Murph Looks Good This Afternoon

1–2 minutes

read

No blackened beard (or chin poof) today! He’s ½ on a heating pad and the outdoor chair cushions catching some fresh air through the screen.

Quite the difference from Friday at the veterinarian hospital. It was already dark from suffering, then he got stressed and angry at the doc for messing with him so much that it turned more black than it’s ever been. Bearded dragons express themselves in this way, and occasional form cute, dark circles on their bellies. He’s had no circles though all this. Not sure why:

Hear his heart beat here.

I accidentally deleted every video in my phone trying to capture 10 seconds of his heartbeat through the tears.

Murph wanted to walk around after his soaking in the sink on his bath cloth chin rest this afternoon! I didn’t snap a photo of him on the kitchen floor,  but he walked around long enough to place his 2 safety cones down so that others were  aware he was down. You can’t not see the bright orange cones I picked up in a toy department. His energy  made me so happy!

  2. I’m continuing to pray for you, Murph my friend.

And asking St. Francis of Assisi to do the same.

  3. I read this to him just now, our friend. He’s resting on Sammy Sloth and me with his white blankie – soon to be sleeping when I can quit moving around

  6. He certainly does. His eyes are particularly bulgey in the morning, and he is puffed up as if holding his breath, except he’s not. This subsides as he wakes. He’s not had actual food since Thursday. He shakes his head “No” when I hold food options to his lips. With pain medicine and a bit of water + his “spa time” soak, I’m trying to keep him hydrated. It’s not easy to think he won’t be with us long if he’s looking good. He deserves a miracle. He doesn’t want to leave.
Thank you for being with us, with him, in this

  9. Every good day is a happy day. He looks fabulous. Hugs all over him. I’m so glad he’s feeling and looking so much better. I was also happy you explained the color of his chin. I couldn’t figure out what was going on when I first saw it.

  10. I didn’t realize that I didn’t explain before. I wish I’d made that clear sooner. Brain’s a bit fried from this. My love is barely opening his eyes today. We are outside. Trying to have him out and to see the sunlight as much as possible. I respond to comments, almost as a mental break here and there. But, I need to spend every single moment I can focused on him at this point. Thank you, friend💚🦎
