So Far…

So Great…

Murph’s beautiful eye is open, and his chin is not dark from pain or stress

Is not easy to not hold him constantly, but he needs his lighting and warmth. He is resting. This morning, he felt awful.

This morning. Eye is surprisingly open, but his chin is dark. Can see in his eye and face he does not feel well.

He had his pain medicine at 2:35 p.m. (once daily is prescribed – it was 3 p.m. yesterday), ½ of a skinny syringe of water, a mouth rinse of his medicine followed (as swab tests detected a wee bit of yeast somehow), and then he wanted a few licks of prune baby food (itsy bit of calcium & multivitamin powder in it).

He has opened one or both eyes quite often since. He had a visitor. We went outside briefly a few times, and he has been receiving pep talks.

I am trying not to be overly optimistic. However, we need a miracle, and I don’t want to unmanifest it if that’s what we are seeing. He’s my little fighter and a rebel. He is strong in spirit and body. If you saw the way he fought against the doctor… it was special. For example, once he knew she wanted to look into his eyes, he closed them. He physically pushed his body from her (twice into my hands) multiple times. She and the assistant couldn’t help but chuckle.

I am staying by Murph’s side nearly all the time if I’m not holding him. My chair is about 20 inches from the top of his tail. So, I keep looking.

Anyway, that’s the update.

Thank you, everyone, for the support here. I have read to him every comment in hopes he understands something inside of that.

We don’t need any comments. We just want to let our friends know

  3. Dear Gigi, Thank you so much, and you are welcome. It is strange to speak of our Murph here as well as in your post about grilled cheese. You care of him so that you brought him up inside of your food comments

  7. Timothy, thank you to you and your wonderful wife for your caring about Murph through these years. He is fighting. He wanted down in the grass today and he walked (pitter patter slide, pitter patter slid) on the kitchen floor & down the 2 steps into Gypsy’s room after his “spa time” just a bit ago. Yay!!!

  12. Much, much more. Not wanting to sadden anyone or consume our friends’ time. Those of you who care about him should know, and he’s the reason our site has been since 2017. Thank you so much

  14. Thank you, Dawn. If you knew him the way that I do… it is his heart, soul, character, and inner strength that is so pure and sweet that it isn’t I who should be recognized, but that lizards (& all animals & insects, actually) possess so much more than most have witnessed, and especially so with our beautiful Murphy Love. I’m so glad we encountered one another recently and that you have gotten to meet Murph (so to speak) and have been suuportive of us and our site ever since.
