From Bald Eagles To Roof-High Skeletons To Awesome People…

What will we see next?!

We can’t anticipate what we’ll see driving around and living out here. We’ve seen  majestic bald eagles mating:

We’ve enjoyed a raccoon family eating watermelon on our deck. This allowed us to see their personalities. We called one “Braveheart”, because it was always the first to eat. It gave the others courage, as slowly, they realized our sitting on the chairs near them was not a threat. It was funny to see them slither vertically down (butt and feet last) into the gap of our deck from one of many construction flaws by the previous home-owner.

Yes, raccoons can attack. Yes, they could have rabies. But, when they are not overcome with their necessary wild side, they are truly sweet, funny, and intelligent animals at their cores. They have excellent memories, invent  games to play, and can solve some locks or puzzles of sorts to get to food or satisfy their curiosity. We watched mama coon’s big o’ butt waddle away with 4 somewhat tiny, round bottoms following. It was precious.

🛒Or shop through our links. Here’s a good place to start: with the rotary cheese grater that we have. I wish we had this thing years ago. It’s perfect for eating shredded block cheese instead of that pre-shredded stuff from the stores with all the additives and anti-caking agents, which are potato starch or cellulose – which is chemically-treated sawdust or cotton lint!! It’s also awesome for shredding hard foods such as carrots and radishes.

We saw mama and two of her babies cross the road, but two stayed put as a car sped by while mama and siblings waited and watched. I was frozen… “Please don’t move babies!!” Now, nearly a year later, sadly (heartbreakingly), we saw an angelic, fuzzy-wuzzy raccoon (possibly one of those babies now grown) getting hailed and heavily rained on in our tree (that’s it, I want multiple animal homes in the back yard now) before being smacked by a jacka** driving too fast or not caring about lives or potentially newly orphaned babies due to their ‘heavy feet’ and carelessness.

This beautifully ‘painted face’ ball of fluff then got eaten by a bald eagle who got pecked on by a ballsy crow yet was respected by the turkey vultures.

This is what happens when you leave your Halloween decorations out way too long!! Is it smoking a carrot, you guys?!🤣It was previously in a Santa hat and later in some leprechaun attire. Driving by some days later, we saw it donned yet another new suite!!
