Lil’ Murph is now nearly 3 years old. We have been together almost exactly 2 1/2 years. He gets all the snuggles and kisses he can tolerate.

Murph has traveled a little bit. He has had adventures.

Murph weighs in at nearly 20 ounces (however, my scale is acting squirrely), and is a fully grown Bearded Dragon.  He is a perfect 20 inches/.508 meters in length : ) with a cuddly width (lying flat on that cute belly) of 4 1/4 inches.

Lil’ Muph has been the mascot (or Murphot) of Lizardplanet.com since June of 2017!

Here is a short, formal introduction to Murph: THE STAR

I hope you visit the beginnings of it all there.

Of course, we’ve all enjoyed his dangling legs of cuteness over the years!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF LIZARDPLANET. I HOPE YOU’VE SMILED AS YOU HAVE GOTTEN TO KNOW MURPH! IF YOU ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH LIZARDS, I HOPE YOU’VE LEARNED SOME THINGS ABOUT THEM ALONG THE WAY. IF YOU HAVE LIVED FEARING LIZARDS OR NOT LIKING THEM, I KNOW WHO SOME OF YOU ARE : ), I HOPE WE HAVE CHANGED YOUR MIND REGARDING THEM. THEY CAN BE CUTE, LOVING, FUNNY AND FULL OF PERSONALITY, AS HUMANS AND OTHER ANIMALS.

20190225_174346A DEEPEST “THANK YOU” TO ALL OF YOU WHOM ARE FOLLOWING US, FOR BEING OUR FRIENDS, AND GIVING YOUR TIME TO COMMUNICATE WITH US. BEST WISHES FOR YOU ALWAYS FROM MURPH & DAWN ♥

  1. So… Murph was super skinny when you got him? Are they born skinny like that – or was he from a home that did not give him the love he needed?

  2. Babies & juveniles are skinny, however, once they reach a certain length, I like to see them growing more proportionately. In that 1st photo Murph’s skin has too many folds in it, whereas in the 3rd photo, he had been living with me for a few weeks & looks happier & healthier. Our Lil’ Murph’s previous owner was a teenage boy who bought Murph from a pet shop (pet shop suppliers have evil living conditions for the reptiles they sell). As time went on, Murph got little attention. This sweet, but preoccupied boy’s family members began taking care of Murph, but they were hardly home to do it. He wasn’t getting the UVB & full-spectrum light he needed. The Grandmother pleaded with me to take Murph. I agreed & am so glad I get to share him with new friends like you.

  3. That is what I figured, he was not getting the love he needed, too bad everyone does not love their pets like we do (we do not have lizards, but we have very well loved cats and dogs).

  4. Yes, our animals are not really pets to those like us, they are cherished family members. I could already tell you two are a great mommy and daddy to something : )

  5. Murph is defintely gone from the skinny kid on the beach to potential stunt double for Schwarzenegger.
