Halloween Photo Shoots With Lizards and Frogs Are So Much Fun!

Poppy the frog doesn’t hold still quite like our Lil’ Murph, but she was ready to get out of her cave bed just in time (I’m telling ya, I think she did it just for me). I was heading to bed somewhat early from a build up of a lack of sleep. I had her photo area all set up, but if she’s still in one of her selected beds, or is only peeking out of her cave bed, she is not ready to come out for lovins, exercise, or exploration.

I know this about her and respect it. However, when I entered her room for the final time to grab my water and quadruple-check that her enclosure’s doors were shut completely and locked, get Jasper (my own black cat) out, & grab my phone and water, & tell Poppy I love her, she was perched on her cave.

*This is the far right of the 47″ long enclosure. There is nothing covering the glass here (does have an under tank heat mat under her cave bed) until she bypasses her wooden climby/tree bed to the left. She likes it this way. She follows her own reflection into her cave 🙂

So, Poppy let me pick her up! She didn’t know what all the hubbub was about, but she was so cooperative & hopped around the strange decor on the desk. We looked outside through the screened window and I got froggy affection. She is the cutest, smartest, most love-filled frog! Yes, I declare: Love-filled frog!
